878 AD: Winchester Revealed uses your camera and the latest augmented reality technology. It is best enjoyed during daylight, as some elements are unsuitable in the dark.
The app takes you on a circular walk of the city of Winchester, which lasts 90 minutes and covers a distance of approximately 2.4km. While you are using the app, please be mindful of other people and be aware of your surroundings, particularly when crossing or standing near roads – the city can get quite busy.
Winchester is an historic city set on a hill, some of its streets are narrow and uneven and are also cobbled in places. Routes within the city centre can also be steep.
Please ensure your phone is fully charged, and to preserve battery, either return to the map when you finish each game or put your device to sleep. The app will remember your progress and detect your location as soon as you re-open it.
